2006 Honda Odyssey EX-L

About this Odyssey

Nobody dreams about owning a minivan, and then they have three kids and a stroller and discover the minivan was right all along. Sliding doors don't ding the car next to you in a parking lot. The seats fold into the floor. You can fit a sheet of plywood, a hockey team, or a week of camping gear. There's a reason the Odyssey has been the default answer for twenty-five years.

This is the EX-L, the one with leather, a sunroof, and power sliding doors on both sides. The 3.5-liter V6 is the same engine family Honda put in everything, so any shop in town can service it, and parts are cheap and everywhere. Honda's third row folds flat into the floor - no wrestling seats out and storing them in the garage.

At this price it's a lot of vehicle for the money. If you're hauling kids to practice, running a side business, or just need something that swallows everything you own on moving day, this does the job for less than a decent used sedan.

It runs, it drives, and everything works. The EX-L equipment is the reason to take this one over a base van: leather seating that wipes clean when somebody spills, a power driver's seat, a sunroof, tri-zone climate so the back rows aren't freezing or baking, rear air vents, and both sliding doors powered so kids can let themselves in. All-weather floor mats are already in it. Come look it over and take the family for a ride.
